My wakeup call came when I had a mentor literally sit me in a corner and tell me I had to  get my mind right. She told me that until I got out of my negative mental patterns, there was nothing anyone could do to help me.

Then she suggested meditating.

To say I was skeptical at first would have been the understatement of the year.

It took many more years before I really accepted the consequences of what I learned that day. I did more meditation with that teacher and took a two month class.

I dabbled in meditation groups and practiced on my own on and off for years.

But it didn't get crystal clear until I started seeing it with clients consistently. 

Stressed? Notice how the shoulders ride up to the ears?

Angry? Notice that tightness in your chest?
