Neck, shoulder, and wrist pain

Matt, I just saw your video on shoulder pain (mine is almost all gone — 99.9%). I did the exercise and remember it when we did it at your clinic. I was amazed at the improvement. I had not done it since I saw you last. My arms were totally flat on the floor as compared to then, where my left shoulder was so cramped and tight that it was pulling up my whole arm — remember? I closed my arms like you did in the video but found I still have room for improvement! Why? My left arm slightly went up while closing at end of movement and my forearm raised a bit — but it’s getting better!

I have had ongoing pain in my shoulders and arms for approximately 8 years. I had tried EVERYTHING; lifting weights, physical therapy, acupuncture and massage therapy.  I was just about to give up on the pain and accept that it was part of my life. I went to see Matt hoping that he might help with a nagging shoulder injury that was interfering with my workouts and getting painful enough to keep me awake at night.  But I was doubtful.  WOW – was I ever wrong.  He accessed my alignment with photos, (ugh!!!) and had me do about 15 to 20 minutes of exercises, and at the end I was amazed! I had virtually NO pain, and full range of motion.  The pain has not returned. Now I’m looking forward to my exercises, for continued posture alignment, and soon I’ll be completely pain free in my entire body!  And he’s very attentive and a really nice guy too!  P.S.  I’m 61 and a competitive athlete, so pain free is a miracle…. expect miracles! I am a personal chef and caterer and had developed a painful case of tendinitis in my wrist and a strange discomfort in my shoulder. I had developed wrist pain and found that if I moved my wrist a certain way it would “pop” and swell for at least a week.  I went to my doctor who told me that my tendon was stretched and either to wear a brace everyday or if that did not work to have surgery.  I wore the brace and one day Matt asked why I had on the brace.  I told him and he had me relax and he looked at my posture and noticed the hurting wrist and arm was not aligned properly.  He showed me some exercises to do and at best I was skeptical but I tried them and lo and behold my wrist once aligned properly with my body my wrist stopped hurting.  I tell everyone about Matt and how he helped me.  He is amazing.  Everyone should see him.

I’d like you to know that the new “windmills” exercise that you recently shared with me has made a dramatic impact on my health.  I’ve been practicing the pose for a few minutes per day and it has really helped me to maintain better posture and to keep my chronic shoulder impingement at bay.

After years of hockey and weight training I developed a pain/ache in my left soulder and neck area. After months of doctor visits (xrays, MRIs, chiropractic work) and bottles of pain killers, I looked into an alternative medicine. When most people hear that term they might be a little skeptical, as was I. I still decided to try it and im very glad I did. After the first session things started to feel better, and now a few sessions into it my pain has begun to fade and my range of motion and flexibility have increased. ROLFING to me seems very logical so I am not suprised it worked for me. Matt does great work and is also a very nice guy. He is very sympathetic to your needs as a peson unlike most doctors. For anyone considering ROLFING I would definitely suggest trying it. You have a lot more to gain than you do to lose.
