Another back ache bites the dust
Got some more pictures for you of someone who’s suffered with back pain for about 6 years. Not just back pain, but searing, debilitating back pain. Now, to be clear and upfront, he’s still got some pain lingering around, but he’s moving very obviously in the right direction. For someone who’s had nonstop pain for 6 years, getting 30 minutes of relief at a time is a big step in the right direction. Now he’s getting a few hours a day of relief.
Here are his pictures. The picture on the left is the first day. The picture on the right is after one week of doing “some” of his exercises on a daily basis (meaning he didn’t do all of them as he was supposed to).
Can you tell why his pain is getting better? Just look at the curvature of his spine in the first picture versus the second picture, and it should be a little more obvious. Look at how the curve of his spine affects the pooching out of his belly. His body wasn’t working efficiently. He was getting a lot of extra strain on his back because of its non-ideal position.
Now it’s moving closer to a more efficient posture that means, quite simply, less pain.

STORIES OF SUCCESS
“I’m in my last year of physical therapy school at UCSF/SFSU and recently learned about myofascial release and deep functional massage techniques like “Rolfing.” I was surprised to find how much better I felt and how much better I was moving after our session. For those of you skeptical of the whole Rolfing movement take it from me, a (soon-to-be) physical therapist, it is definitely worth a try. And if you want your first session to be with a skillful and knowledgeable practitioner then Matt is your man.”
