You are the expert on your body
With every doctor, chiropractor, massage therapist, personal trainer, and acupuncturist telling you that they know best about your body, it’s important to remember that no matter how much any one alternative health practitioner knows about health in general, you still have a leg up on all of them when it comes to your body.
It’s YOUR body, and you are privy to its signals and sensations every minute of every day!
Before you had doctors to do MRI’s and X-rays, what would you think if your knee had a pinching sensation after walking for a long period? Would you assume that that sensation meant nothing?
You’d assume it meant something was pinching and that you’d have to figure out how to get things “unpinching.”
Nowadays, you have an endless number of experts telling you that your sensations don’t mean anything because there’s no obvious nerve or tendon damage in your MRI or X-rays.
But you still feel the pinching.
But you are supposed to assume it means nothing OR just stop using your leg altogether until rest (and the resulting weakness/atrophy) makes it get better.
Does that make sense to you?

STORIES OF SUCCESS
“I’m in my last year of physical therapy school at UCSF/SFSU and recently learned about myofascial release and deep functional massage techniques like “Rolfing.” I was surprised to find how much better I felt and how much better I was moving after our session. For those of you skeptical of the whole Rolfing movement take it from me, a (soon-to-be) physical therapist, it is definitely worth a try. And if you want your first session to be with a skillful and knowledgeable practitioner then Matt is your man.”
